SVS SB-2000 PRO

The SVS SB-2000 Pro is a sealed active subwoofer designed to deliver deep, precise and perfectly controlled low frequencies within a compact cabinet. The sealed configuration prioritizes speed of response, articulation and tonal accuracy, making it a particularly suitable solution for both stereo Hi-Fi systems and Home Theater installations where accurate reproduction of the lowest frequencies is required.

The system employs a front-firing 12-inch high-excursion driver, specifically developed to combine high sound pressure levels with precise transient response. The ventilated 1050 aluminum cone, selected for its excellent rigidity-to-mass ratio, ensures fast and linear diaphragm movement, while the injection-molded high-excursion surround maintains control even during the most demanding passages, helping to reduce distortion and preserve the natural character of the reproduction.

The motor assembly uses two high-mass toroidal ferrite magnets, designed to generate substantial driving force and maintain full control of the driver even at the highest sound pressure levels. The dual-layer high-purity copper voice coil, wound on a fiberglass former impregnated with polyimide, improves heat dissipation and limits power compression during extended listening sessions. The magnetic circuit is completed by a ventilated steel structure and an aluminum shorting ring, solutions that contribute to improved linearity, cooling and operating precision.

Amplification is handled by the Sledge STA-550D module, a Class D amplifier with a discrete MOSFET output stage designed to provide high current delivery and extremely accurate driver control. The available power allows the subwoofer to reproduce deep and dynamic bass frequencies while maintaining speed, precision and low distortion levels, even during the most demanding passages.

Signal processing is managed by a 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP with 56-bit double-precision processing, developed to optimize the subwoofer’s performance according to its sealed enclosure design. The processor precisely manages phase, polarity, frequency response and room gain compensation, allowing seamless integration with the main loudspeakers and ensuring linear performance within the listening environment.

Adjustments are available through the SVS application, compatible with iOS, Android and Amazon Fire devices, which communicates with the subwoofer via Bluetooth and allows users to modify volume, crossover frequency, phase, polarity, room compensation and three-band parametric equalization directly from the listening position. The app also allows storage of up to three customized presets, which can be quickly recalled to adapt the subwoofer’s performance for music listening, movie playback or gaming.

The rear panel features the Intelligent Control Interface (ICI), equipped with LED indicators and dedicated controls that provide quick access to the main settings even without using the application. Connectivity includes RCA inputs and outputs, a 3–12 V AC/DC trigger input and a USB port dedicated to powering optional accessories such as the SVS SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter.

The cabinet is constructed from high-density MDF with a thick front baffle, extensive internal bracing and dedicated acoustic damping material, effectively reducing unwanted resonances and coloration. The construction is completed with a non-resonant ABS front grille and iso-elastic feet, designed to minimize vibration transfer to the floor and contribute to even cleaner, more stable and controlled low-frequency reproduction.
