The PSB Alpha Subsonic is a passive subwoofer designed to add depth and presence to low frequencies in stereo and home theater systems.
It can be paired with bookshelf or floor-standing speakers to extend their low-frequency range.
The design utilizes a dual-ported bass-reflex configuration with two 6.5" drivers, a setup engineered to deliver energetic, articulate bass.
As a passive model, it requires a suitably powered external amplifier. It can be connected in a "daisy-chain" configuration between the amplifier and the main speakers.
