This increased sensitivity not only produces a more powerful and engaging sound but also ensures impeccable linearity, maintained even at high volume levels. The optimization of phase rotation reduces the amplifier’s load criticality, enhancing compatibility even with less powerful equipment, while the focus on drivability allows the speaker to fully express its potential without requiring excessive amplification. Opera Quinta v2 is a floorstanding speaker embodying the pinnacle of Italian acoustic engineering, blending aesthetic refinement, high technical performance, and intense musicality. Its wide frequency response, combined with an optimized crossover made with carefully selected components, guarantees an immersive and captivating listening experience.

The project is born from a collaboration with Scan Speak, one of the world’s most renowned speaker manufacturers, resulting in a careful selection of transducers crucial for achieving an ideal balance between sound extension, sensitivity, and minimized distortion. The 180 mm woofers, with black anodized aluminum cones, provide solid and detailed reproduction of low frequencies, while the 150 mm midrange, made with a coated fiberglass membrane, offers surprising timbral naturalness. Completing the system is a 26 mm soft dome tweeter equipped with a double ferrite magnet and an aluminum front plate, capable of delivering a wide and airy reproduction of high frequencies. This combination ensures a frequency response ranging from 42 Hz up to 21 kHz, guaranteeing a perfect balance of body, detail, and three-dimensional sound.

The cabinet results from careful optimization of proportions and materials, designed to minimize internal reflections and enhance sound performance within the listening environment. The structure, free of parallel walls, and the carefully studied ratio of internal dimensions allow for a drastic reduction of standing waves, avoiding unwanted sound coloration and improving voice definition and instrument naturalness. Thanks to the use of accelerometers, the sound pressure emitted by the cabinet surfaces was precisely measured, enabling optimization to the point where emission is practically imperceptible, well below average ambient noise. Even the placement of the speakers on the front baffle is meticulously designed to reduce internal reflections and preserve timbral purity and sound image accuracy. The rear reflex port is engineered to prevent turbulence even at high volumes, contributing to a more controlled bass reproduction without resonances or blurring.

A key element in the sound quality of the Opera Quinta v2 is the crossover, designed to ensure a perfect match between the transducers and optimize phase response. Using top-quality components such as Vishay anti-inductive resistors and Mundorf capacitors, it achieves a wide, precise, and three-dimensional soundstage. The crossover frequencies are set at 250 Hz and 2300 Hz, ensuring smooth transitions between woofer, midrange, and tweeter. The choice of high-quality components not only enhances initial performance but also guarantees consistent sound quality over time. The project prioritizes the listening experience over mere technical parameters, aware that standard measurements often fail to capture all the nuances that make a speaker truly musical and emotionally engaging.
