CANTON REFERENCE 7

Canton Reference 7 is a 3-way bass reflex floorstanding loudspeaker developed to deliver true High End performance, the result of decades of research and development by Canton in the field of high-fidelity audio. Although it is the slimmest model in the Reference series, it successfully combines compact dimensions with powerful, dynamic and highly detailed sound reproduction, blending elegantly into any living environment while delivering reference-level performance.

Its acoustic architecture is built around a meticulously optimized cabinet, where the internal volume and bass reflex tuning work in perfect synergy with the drivers to produce deep, fast and exceptionally controlled low frequencies. The enclosure has been engineered to maximize the performance of the transducers, ensuring extended frequency response and remarkable dynamic capability even during the most demanding musical passages.

Low frequencies are handled by two 154 mm BCT woofers featuring Black Ceramic Tungsten diaphragms, a material selected for its outstanding combination of rigidity and low mass. This design delivers powerful, precise bass while maintaining excellent cone control and extremely fast transient response. The same material is also used for the dedicated 154 mm midrange driver, which reproduces the midrange with exceptional naturalness, transparency and accuracy, rendering vocals and instruments with remarkable realism and fine detail.

High frequencies are reproduced by a 25 mm BC tweeter featuring a Black Aluminum Oxide Ceramic dome, designed to provide outstanding extension, clarity and smooth response. The drivers are mounted on the signature rounded front baffle and finished with seamless trim rings that conceal the mounting hardware while also functioning as asymmetric waveguides. This solution optimizes sound dispersion throughout the listening room, improving soundstage focus and maintaining consistent performance even away from the ideal listening position.

The crossover network employs carefully selected components with extremely tight tolerances to ensure seamless integration between all drivers. Its meticulously engineered design maintains a balanced impedance curve, precise transient response and perfectly coherent transitions across the frequency range, allowing every driver to operate as part of a perfectly integrated acoustic system.

The cabinet construction reflects the same level of attention devoted to the acoustic design. A sophisticated system of computer-optimized internal bracing enhances structural rigidity and stability, while the absence of parallel internal surfaces and the use of dedicated damping materials minimize standing waves and unwanted resonances. The result is exceptionally clean, accurate and coloration-free sound reproduction.

The connection section is equally designed to satisfy the requirements of advanced audio systems. High-quality WBT nextgen™ terminals support both bi-wiring and bi-amping configurations while ensuring highly efficient signal transfer. When these configurations are not used, gold-plated copper jumpers allow the loudspeaker to deliver its full performance potential. The rear panel also incorporates Canton’s RC (Room Compensation) controls, enabling the output level of the midrange and tweeter to be adjusted in precise 1.5 dB steps, allowing the speaker to be accurately tailored to the listening environment and personal preferences.

The design fully reflects the premium standards of the Reference series. Clean lines, elegant proportions and refined finishes complement any interior, with versions available in satin white, high-gloss piano black and genuine walnut veneer finished with a matte treatment. Every construction detail reflects the craftsmanship and precision of Canton's manufacturing, with each Reference 7 proudly made in Germany.
