The Merging+NADAC was developed in response to repeated requests from Merging’s mastering and recording engineers to provide a high-end DAC for their own clients. This device is designed to allow music enthusiasts and high-resolution aficionados to enjoy recordings with the same transparency, precision, and quality that engineers experience in their studios. Based on the architecture of the renowned professional converters Horus and Hapi, the NADAC carries all the benefits of those models, enhanced with features specifically for home use, such as channel summing, a dedicated headphone DAC, an advanced ergonomic interface, and a robust aluminum chassis.

The NADAC is not a simple DAC: it is a Network Attached Digital to Analogue Converter, designed for network operation, delivering flawless digital audio transmission over long distances using Cat5e, Cat6, or even optical Ethernet connections up to 3,000 meters without signal loss. With its integrated RAVENNA card, compatible with the AES67 standard from the Audio Engineering Society, the NADAC handles PCM, DXD, and DSD signals up to DSD256, using asynchronous communication and an internal buffer that precisely manages the data flow with nanosecond accuracy.

Build quality is exceptionally high: the chassis is made from satin-finished CNC-machined aluminum panels, with thickness and weight optimized for stability and shielding. The front panel features a power button shaped like the company logo, a high-resolution color OLED display, a multifunction knob, and two headphone jacks, while the volume control is integrated into the knob itself. The rear panel provides a full range of professional digital connections, including AES/EBU XLR, coaxial S/PDIF, and optical Toslink, as well as inputs for external clocks and power. The USB input is intentionally omitted, favoring the more stable Ethernet connection, which is free from clock noise and ideal for networking.

Inside, the DAC core consists of an eight-channel ESS Sabre ES9008S Reference chip, combined into two channels to optimize linearity, dynamic range, and reduce noise. The NADAC is designed to deliver music exactly as it was created in the studio, without added coloration or alterations, offering a transparent, detailed, and faithful listening experience. Full software support, including smartphone and tablet apps, Windows and Mac drivers, and always-updated manuals, ensures easy and immediate use even for non-engineers.
