The Scarlatti trilogy, consisting of upsampler, DAC, and master clock, represents a top-tier digital audio system designed to deliver extraordinary sound performance from any digital source.The DAC employs the renowned dCS Ring DAC™ technology, a patented digital system combining linearity and very high speed, ensuring true 24-bit performance even with very low-level signals.

Its powerful digital platform is based on FPGA chips, DSP, and microcontrollers, with software developed and maintained in the UK, allowing optimized DSP filters to extract every musical detail and tailor playback to the listener’s preferences.

The Scarlatti DAC offers numerous input options, including AES3, S/PDIF, SDIF-2, and a dual AES or IEEE 1394 interface optimized for DSD; it features digital volume control allowing direct connection to a power amplifier without the need for a preamplifier.Its output level can be adjusted between two or six volts to suit various amplifier and speaker configurations.

The device can operate as a Master unit, providing the clock to the source, or be synchronized to an external Word Clock signal generated by the Scarlatti Master Clock, significantly improving sound quality.For optimal results, the DAC is often paired with the upsampler and master clock of the same series.

The Scarlatti Master Clock is inspired by professional studio models and previous successful dCS products, offering exceptional stability thanks to carefully selected and pre-aged crystal oscillators.Its function is to generate and accept the industry-standard Word Clock via 75-ohm coaxial cable, greatly enhancing clarity, power, and detail resolution across the entire digital audio system.

The upsampler completes the system by further elevating signal quality, upsampling to DSD bitrates for even more faithful and refined reproduction.

All components in the Scarlatti series are software-upgradable to keep pace with evolving digital formats and maintain top performance.
