The Fosi Audio ZD3 is a high-end balanced DAC and preamplifier designed to deliver top-tier audio performance in a compact desktop format. It is the result of careful technical development and attentive listening to the needs of audio enthusiasts, aiming to combine sound quality, versatility, and ease of use. At its core is the ES9039Q2M digital-to-analog converter chip, capable of producing rich, natural, and dynamic sound with extremely low distortion below 0.00008% and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 126 dB.

The device features a fully balanced architecture and a high-end chipset composed of XMOS XU316, ES9039Q2M, QCC3031, and LME49720, allowing the decoding of PCM files up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512, ensuring faithful and immersive playback. Thanks to its versatility, the ZD3 offers a wide range of connections: Bluetooth, USB, optical, coaxial, and HDMI ARC inputs — a first for a Fosi DAC — and balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, making it ideal for integration into any high-quality Hi-Fi or desktop audio setup.

The built-in Bluetooth supports SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX HD codecs, providing high-quality wireless transmission without loss of detail. Additionally, the swappable DIP8 dual op-amp design allows users to customize the sound signature by replacing the pre-installed modules with models such as LME49720, NE5532, MUSES02, or SS3602, offering a tailored listening experience.

The device includes a bypass mode that excludes the preamplifier section to provide a fixed output level, perfect for use with integrated or power amplifiers. The 12V trigger in/out connections also enable synchronized power on/off with other audio components, creating a smooth and automated user experience.

The front panel features a 1.5-inch OLED display that clearly shows all key information and allows intuitive control, including via remote. Its design reflects the minimalist and refined aesthetics of the ZA3 model, forming a perfect pair for those looking to build a compact, elegant, and high-performance home audio system.
