MATRIX AUDIO SS-1

The SS-1 from Matrix Audio represents the pinnacle of network switches dedicated to Hi-Fi audio, designed to ensure a stable and lossless signal transmission even at ultra-high definition. Unlike conventional network devices, this switch is the result of meticulous attention to every detail of audio systems, with specific optimizations in power supply, clock, cooling, and component selection, preserving signal purity and minimizing any interference.

The device features two isolated SFP/SFP+ ports, capable of supporting connections up to 10Gbps, with the option to use fiber optic or RJ45 modules. This configuration allows simultaneous connection of network devices and digital audio players while maintaining complete electrical isolation, preventing high-frequency noise from affecting the audio signal path. The independent Ethernet ports, up to 2.5Gbps, include two dedicated 100Mbps ports designed specifically for audio equipment, enabling slower yet extremely stable transmission and reducing the risk of bit errors. Each port is individually shielded, with signal transformers protected by metal housings and spacing designed to accommodate high-quality cables without clutter.

At the heart of the SS-1 is its femtosecond clock, providing an extremely stable reference with minimal phase noise. Even without the RF synthesizer found in the Pro model, the clock architecture delivers high-level performance, ensuring precise circuit timing and uniform audio signal transmission. Configurable LED indicators can be turned off for an immersive listening experience without visual distractions.

The power supply is engineered to deliver clean and silent energy. The SS-1 integrates a linear circuit with ultra-low-noise regulators, high-capacity capacitors, and a large passive heatsink that ensures completely silent operation. Additionally, an external linear power supply can be connected via the DC input, directly powering the clock and main controller to further enhance sonic performance.

The CNC-machined aluminum chassis and reinforced steel base provide solidity and stability, while adjustable isolation feet allow optimization of placement and acoustic interaction with the environment. Thanks to these features, the SS-1 does more than transmit data: it transforms the audio signal into an emotional experience, delivering rich and detailed sound that envelops the listener and turns every note into a profound musical dialogue.
