The Pre Box RS2 Digital represents the most advanced evolution of the Pro-Ject range, combining a preamplifier, DAC, and headphone amplifier of the highest level in a single device. It serves as a universal and future-proof solution for those seeking absolute reference performance in both digital listening and integration with high-end amplifiers and speakers.

Based on the same design principles as the award-winning Pre Box S2 Digital, the RS2 model expands the feature set and elevates it to new standards. It employs dual-mono DACs of superior class, using ESS Sabre ESS9038Q2M chips, ensuring top-level sound quality and separate signal paths for the left and right channels. Thanks to these converters, the Pre Box RS2 Digital supports PCM files up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512 via USB, covering every type of digital source available on the market or through streaming.

The analog output allows the choice between a high-quality solid-state or tube buffer, enabling users to customize the sound to their preferences. Eight digital filters, including proprietary transient-optimized filters developed by the creators of MQA technology, allow further customization, and the device is fully MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) compatible both in hardware and software.

The USB signal is managed by a multi-core XMOS microcontroller with advanced RISC architecture, while an Altera MAX II CPLD ensures precise reclocking, providing optimal processing for both classical playback and MQA streams. Ideal integration occurs with the Stream Box S2 Ultra and the TIDAL service, or with the new CD transport CD Box RS2 T, connected via a differential I²S bus, with the master clock provided by the Pre Box RS2 Digital.

The headphone amplifier is designed without compromise, fully DC-coupled, with no coupling capacitors even on the output, and a very fast DC servo prevents any unwanted DC voltage. Output power is suitable for all types of headphones, ensuring control and transparency.

The Pre Box RS2 Digital is housed in an elegant aluminum case available in silver or black finish, featuring a large front display that presents all relevant information clearly and orderly. Menu navigation is fast and responsive, allowing configuration in seconds. The included high-quality aluminum remote control completes the experience, offering precise and immediate control of all functions.

With digital inputs including I²S, AES/EBU, Toslink, S/PDIF coaxial, and Bluetooth 4.0, pre-out balanced XLR, RCA, and headphone outputs, and a fully balanced dual-mono design, the Pre Box RS2 Digital combines flexibility, performance, and build quality in a single reference-grade device.
