Integrated amplifier delivering 80 W per channel into 8 Ω in Class AB, the Rotel A14 MKII is the flagship model in the brand’s Series 14 range. Its design combines a carefully tuned amplification stage with a power supply based on an oversized toroidal transformer manufactured in-house by Rotel and four high-efficiency slit-foil bulk storage capacitors, designed to ensure a stable power supply and strong dynamic performance.

The digital section features a 32-bit/384 kHz Texas Instruments digital-to-analogue converter, incorporated into a redesigned circuit optimised through careful component selection. Improvements to the power supply and gain stages contribute to the handling of signals from a wide range of sources, from orchestral music to more intimate vocal recordings.

Connectivity includes analogue and digital inputs, a PC-USB port with MQA support, and Bluetooth reception with aptX and AAC codecs for wireless streaming. A moving-magnet (MM) phono stage is also provided, allowing a compatible turntable to be connected directly. Roon Tested certification confirms verified compatibility with Roon software for music management and playback.

To adapt the sound to the listening environment and personal preferences, the tone controls allow separate bass and treble adjustments in 1 dB increments, up to ±10 dB. Bypass mode removes these adjustments from the signal path. The graphic display on the front panel shows the volume level and audio stream information, making the main functions easy to monitor.

The Rotel A14 MKII also incorporates features designed for more complex installations. Its dual speaker terminals, compatible with various connection types, allow the A and B speaker outputs to be selected via relays, enabling configurations that include a second listening zone. Integration with external control systems is supported through Ethernet, RS-232, 12 V trigger and infrared remote-control connections, making the amplifier suitable for both domestic stereo systems and integrated installation setups.
