The Accuphase integrated amplifier is designed to deliver an unparalleled listening experience, where power, control, and refinement coexist in perfect harmony. It is a balanced stereo solid-state amplifier in class AB, capable of delivering 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 260 watts into 4 ohms, with a frequency response extending from 3 Hz to 150 kHz. Total harmonic distortion is limited to 0.05% on loads from 4 to 16 ohms, while the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 125 dB, ensuring absolute silence in the background and exceptionally transparent dynamics.

The heart of the volume control is the sophisticated AAVA system (Accuphase Analog Vari-gain Amplifier), a proprietary analog regulation circuit that employs six balanced buffer amplifiers in parallel, assisted by ANCC technology (Accuphase Noise and Distortion Cancelling Circuit), effectively suppressing noise and distortion. The motorized volume potentiometer, integrated into the AAVA block and housed in an extruded aluminum body, is built with extremely precise mechanical components to ensure smooth, stable, and highly accurate volume control.

The internal structure clearly separates the preamplifier and power amplifier sections, both of which can be used independently thanks to a convenient front-panel selector, making the amplifier compatible with AV bypass and home theatre pass-through connections. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs provide maximum configuration flexibility, while the amplification stage features a symmetrical monoblock design with separate modules for each channel. Each channel uses bipolar power transistors in a quadruple push-pull parallel configuration, ensuring stable speaker driving and complete control.

The output stage operates in current feedback with Balanced Remote Sensing technology, offering extremely low impedance and a damping factor of 800 for precise, controlled bass response. Power is supplied by a custom oversized toroidal transformer, paired with high-capacity filter capacitors (2×40,000 µF / 80 V), providing constant energy even during demanding musical passages. Input selection is handled by logic-controlled relays, while speaker protection is ensured by low-resistance MOS-FETs and a power-stage safety circuit with photo-coupler and thermal sensor, which responds instantly to overcurrent or overheating.

The amplifier also features a bypassable balanced tone control, an independent phase selector for each input, precision channel balance control, mono mode, instant -20 dB volume attenuation, and a loudness compensator. It includes a discrete-component headphone amplifier, elegant analog peak meters, and a full set of connections including 2 balanced XLR inputs, 5 unbalanced RCA inputs, RCA recorder inputs/outputs, and dual speaker terminals A/B/A+B. Two rear slots allow the installation of optional Accuphase boards — phono MC/MM, DAC, or line — with control directly from the front panel.

Build quality extends to mechanical details, such as “high carbon” isolation feet with high damping properties, reducing vibrations and improving chassis stability. The package is completed by a high-quality remote control, designed to provide precision and ease of use.
