Originally released in 1960 by Vee-Jay, Introducing Wayne Shorter is the debut album of the great tenor saxophonist. The program features five original compositions by Shorter and a cover of “Mack the Knife,” with the leader accompanied by the legendary trumpeter Lee Morgan, pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Jimmy Cobb. This album is now reissued by Craft Recordings in the Original Jazz Classics series as a remastered edition from the original analog tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI, and presented in a luxurious tip-on cover produced by Stoughton Printing.
