The second album by Bill Evans’ original trio was recorded after the pianist, bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian had spent a year playing together, developing the telepathic rapport that would establish a new standard for trio interaction.

The album features intimate interpretations of numerous standards, alongside three original compositions that soon became synonymous with the trio’s sound. Considerable space is given to Scott LaFaro’s virtuosity, and several years later, Bill Evans described this album as one of his favourites.

Another milestone in Bill Evans’ discography, now available to experience with a level of sound quality that only 45 RPM vinyl can deliver.
