The Sonus faber Serafino loudspeaker represents a perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation, paying homage to the Venetian 18th-century luthier Santo Serafino, renowned for creating violins with unmatched aesthetic refinement and sound quality. The second generation of Serafino carries forward this philosophy, combining artisanal mastery with high-end audio components to deliver a listening experience that captures the intensity and emotion of a live performance.

The cabinet’s rounded design, inspired by the graceful curves of a violin, not only enhances the speaker’s aesthetic appeal but also reduces internal resonances, ensuring clear and natural sound reproduction. Each speaker is handcrafted at the Vicenza facility, using nine layers of carefully selected natural wood based on grain and density, finished with nine meticulously applied coats of varnish, a process that unites elegance, durability, and acoustic quality.

Serafino incorporates the most advanced technologies from the Homage collection, condensing the full emotional impact of a live performance into a relatively compact speaker. The second generation introduces the Intono system, a patented internal structure that reduces acoustic pressure in specific frequency ranges, ensuring distortion-free midrange and faithful, natural reproduction.

The woofer has been upgraded with a new voice coil and renewed spider materials, increasing excursion, efficiency, and bass extension, while the new midrange drivers use stronger magnets for precise and rapid control. The entire system is carefully mass-loaded to correct resonances and maintain a detailed, clean sound. The phase-coherent crossover, hand-soldered capacitors, and Jantzen inductors ensure pure sound, high power handling, and optimal quietness.

The innovative damping ring, developed through advanced computer simulations, optimizes driver behavior by minimizing turbulence and directing sound waves into more coherent patterns, providing a uniform frequency response and exceptional clarity both on-axis and off-axis. Serafino confirms itself as a speaker of timeless elegance and superior sonic precision, capable of moving anyone who listens to music with focus and passion.
