The ProAc Response DT8 floorstanding loudspeaker represents an example of in-depth research into driver diaphragm materials, applied for the first time in a two-way design by the British manufacturer. ProAc places great emphasis on this aspect, selecting different materials for each driver in order to achieve optimal response across the full frequency range. The Response DT8 integrates two 6.5-inch woofers with cellulose fibre and mica cones, delivering outstanding low-frequency performance in a reflex cabinet with side-mounted ports, while a polypropylene cone driver ensures detailed, natural midrange reproduction free from coloration. The harmonious interaction between the drivers produces extended bass response and a clean, natural midrange with precise and well-defined imaging.

Frequency management is handled by a crossover designed by Stewart Tyler, which intelligently blends the different bands and seamlessly integrates the 1-inch soft dome tweeter, mounted in an off-centre position between the two woofers. This configuration allows the Response DT8 to deliver coherent, detailed and well-balanced musical reproduction, while maintaining the natural and engaging sonic signature typical of ProAc loudspeakers. Positioned as an entry model in the floorstanding range, the Response DT8 combines intelligent design, carefully selected materials and high sound quality, offering a refined yet accessible listening experience.
