The Marten Oscar Trio is the launch model of the Oscar series and represents an important step in the evolution of the Swedish manufacturer, bringing the distinctive Marten sound into an entirely new design platform. Developed under the direction of chief designer Leif Olofsson, it was created to make the brand’s acclaimed sonic philosophy available at a more accessible price point without compromising build quality, performance, or musicality. The project is the result of a fresh and innovative approach that rethinks several aspects of traditional loudspeaker design, introducing new technologies and custom-developed components specifically created for this model.

Configured as a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker, the Oscar Trio employs drivers designed exclusively for the series, with the goal of achieving even greater control over musical reproduction. These bespoke transducers deliver exceptionally low distortion, extended excursion capabilities, and impressive dynamic performance, allowing for authoritative and engaging bass reproduction. The result is a balanced and natural presentation characterized by excellent tonal coherence and the musicality that has long defined Marten loudspeakers.

A key element of the design is the use of ceramic diaphragms, a material selected for its outstanding mechanical properties. Also known as synthetic sapphire, ceramic combines low mass with exceptional rigidity, making it an ideal material for high-performance speaker membranes. Through a refined electrochemical process, the diaphragms achieve a high level of internal damping and an elevated resonance frequency, significantly reducing distortion while delivering the transparency, precision, and detail expected from premium high-end loudspeakers.

The cabinet reflects Marten’s design philosophy, balancing elegance and functionality. Its clean, minimalist lines are free from unnecessary embellishments, emphasizing purity of form and carefully considered proportions. The enclosure is engineered for rigidity and resonance control, contributing significantly to the speaker’s acoustic performance and overall sonic refinement.

Particular attention has also been paid to the internal wiring, which is entrusted to renowned Jorma cables handcrafted in Sweden. Utilizing separate conductors for positive and negative signals and premium-grade copper, the wiring provides excellent shielding and exceptionally pure signal transmission. This approach helps preserve the integrity of the musical signal, ensuring a transparent, natural, and uncolored listening experience.

The crossover network features a carefully optimized second-order design developed to preserve dynamics and musical information. Marten favors lower-order crossover designs, as more complex networks can restrict dynamic expression and reduce detail retrieval. To maximize performance, the crossover incorporates high-quality components including copper foil air-core inductors, silver/gold capacitors, premium resistors, and Jorma internal wiring, all working together to maintain speed, transparency, and natural musical flow.
