BOWERS & WILKINS 703 S3

The new 703 S3 marks a significant evolution within the 700 Series, introducing for the first time the iconic Tweeter-on-Top configuration, previously reserved for higher-end models. This tweeter, housed in a solid aluminum enclosure milled from a single block, is carefully decoupled from the rest of the cabinet to minimize resonance and deliver a more open, natural, and airy high-frequency performance. Its new, more elongated design incorporates an even more effective tube-loading system, providing a freer and more detailed sound reproduction.

The carbon dome tweeter, specifically engineered for this series, represents a substantial improvement over the traditional aluminum double-dome tweeter. It extends the breakup threshold to 47 kHz, offering outstanding precision and definition with incredibly accurate soundstage imaging.

The midrange features the Continuum™ cone, born from advanced composite construction that avoids the abrupt behavioral transitions typical of traditional materials. This ensures a more neutral, open, and transparent reproduction of voices and instruments. The midrange driver is also decoupled from the rest of the structure to minimize interference from the woofers and benefits from the innovative Biomimetic Suspension—a revolutionary solution that further enhances responsiveness and natural sound delivery.

For low frequencies, the 703 S3 employs two Aerofoil™ Profile woofers, developed using advanced computer modeling techniques. These cones feature variable thickness, optimizing stiffness and lightness where most needed, resulting in deep, dynamic, and tightly controlled bass. The combination of these technologies translates into an extraordinarily realistic listening experience, capable of filling the room with enveloping, precise, and vibrant sound.
