Omega Compact Hemp is a wideband loudspeaker system characterized by high sensitivity and an 8-inch driver featuring a diaphragm made from hemp fibers. Hemp is a cellulose-based plant fiber known for its superior strength compared to traditional wood-derived paper fibers; in the past it was widely used in the production of marine ropes and tea filters. Its high resistance to flexing allows for an extended frequency range, while the greater fiber length increases resistance to tensile and torsional stress.

These characteristics enable the driver to operate more quickly, minimizing phase delays between the center and the edge of the cone and promoting more uniform sound dispersion. Hemp cones reproduce music with an excellent sense of rhythm and remarkable bass precision, free from excess or artificial coloration, delivering one of the fastest transient responses compared to loudspeakers from other manufacturers. The sonic character is particularly well suited to experienced listeners and professionals.

The company develops all loudspeaker specifications in-house without relying on external manufacturers’ guidelines, and each cabinet is built in its own facilities in the United States. The enclosures are made from three layers of materials, with the veneer applied as a fourth layer, using MDF from softwood sources selected for their superior acoustic qualities despite higher cost, and Baltic birch plywood with the mandatory inclusion of a phenolic layer.

All elements are bonded with PVA glue under pressure, and every model features internal bracing to increase structural rigidity. Only high-precision bass-reflex ports and internal wiring using Vampire cables are employed, completed by a magnetic grille.

After the veneer is applied, all joints are hand-finished and left visible, a detail that reflects the high level of craftsmanship, the precision of the manual workmanship, and the authenticity of the materials used.
