CAMBIDGE AUDIO L/R X (LARGE)

The Green and Orange finishes will be available in December 2026.

The Cambridge Audio L/R X active loudspeakers form a stereo system with integrated amplification, designed to deliver large-scale sound reproduction without requiring an external amplifier. Integrating the electronics, signal processing and acoustic optimisation into the cabinets reduces the number of components and connections required, simplifying installation and integration into the home environment.

The system delivers a total amplification power of 800 W, with 400 W per speaker. The acoustic architecture features a 28 mm aluminium-dome tweeter and a system of drivers dedicated to low-frequency reproduction, complemented by 6-inch passive radiators. This configuration extends the frequency response down to 35 Hz, providing deep and controlled bass reproduction without the need for an external subwoofer. A dedicated output is also available for connecting a subwoofer if required.

Digital signal processing is based on a 64-bit DSP and digital crossovers that manage integration between the drivers. Room Optimisation and DynamEQ help adapt reproduction to the listening environment and volume level, while the Normal, Movie and Voice EQ presets allow users to select different settings according to the content being played. Advanced Speaker Protection helps protect the components during high-volume playback.

The StreamMagic Gen 4 streaming platform provides access to major online music services, including Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL and Amazon Music. Compatibility with Roon Ready, Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, UPnP and internet radio allows music playback from a variety of sources and integration into multi-room systems, making it possible to synchronise playback across multiple rooms or play different content independently in each one. Streaming supports high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz.

Connectivity includes an HDMI eARC input for connecting a television, Bluetooth for playback from mobile devices, and an integrated MM phono stage for direct connection of a compatible turntable. Optical TOSLINK and USB-C inputs are also available for digital audio sources, along with a USB-A port for media playback. Supported formats include ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF and DSD up to DSD512.

The two speakers can be connected wirelessly via WiSA HT or using the supplied USB-C cable, which is useful in environments where interference may compromise wireless transmission stability. The active configuration and range of connection options allow the system to be used with music sources, televisions and turntables, minimising the need for additional equipment.

The design features architectural lines, a floating base and subtle LED underlighting. Available finishes include Black, White, Blue, Walnut, Orange and Green, allowing the speakers to complement a variety of interior styles.
