The platter, made of ABS plastic, is lightweight to match a low-torque motor, powered by an external 12V 1A power supply. The belt-drive transmission offers manual speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm. The motor is decoupled from the chassis via rubber elements to reduce vibration, while a flat bronze bearing ensures smooth and quiet rotation.

The technical highlight of the TD 203 is the TP 82 tonearm, a rare feature in this price range. It’s a 9-inch unipivot arm made entirely of aluminum, equipped with a hard metal tip and five miniature ball bearings, ensuring freedom of movement and high stability across both vertical and horizontal planes. Fully manual in operation, it also features a precision lift lever for gently lowering the stylus onto the record. The arm allows for fine adjustments of height, azimuth, and anti-skating via dedicated counterweights—all included in the package.

The turntable comes pre-fitted with a Thorens TAS 257 moving magnet cartridge, which is in fact an OEM version of the Audio-Technica AT3600L. This component is well matched to the system’s overall balance. The package also includes an alignment protractor and a transparent acrylic dust cover.
