TECHNICS SL-40 CBT

The SL-40CBT is a direct-drive turntable that combines the elegance and robustness of Technics design with the convenience of modern technology. Inspired by the legendary SL-1200, this Hi-Fi reinterpretation preserves the analog integrity of the sound while offering Bluetooth® connectivity to wirelessly connect active speakers, headphones, or compatible amplifiers. The coreless DC direct-drive motor, without an iron core, minimizes vibrations and harmonic distortion, ensuring smooth and precise rotation without "cogging," while the digital circuit monitors the speed in real time to correct any discrepancies.

The 1.26 kg die-cast aluminum platter, reinforced with ribs and featuring a direct-mount motor magnet, works in harmony with the gimbal-suspended, universally balanced S-shaped tonearm made of ultra-light aluminum alloy, equipped with high-precision bearings and graduated tools for antiskating and tracking force adjustment. The isolated MM Phono stage with 36.5 dB gain is paired with the Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge with conical stylus (4 mV), delivering detailed and natural sound reproduction.

The turntable features an MDF chassis with a minimalist design, separate circuits for power supply, motor control, and phono preamplification, and vibration-damping feet calibrated to move resonances out of the audible range. The high torque allows a very fast start, reaching 33 1/3 RPM from standstill in 0.7 seconds, while the electronic braking system ensures precise stops. Wow & flutter remain below 0.025% WRMS, practically imperceptible.

The SL-40CBT offers dual RCA outputs selectable between Phono and Line level, a mat and dust cover, EP adapter, headshell, included Audio-Technica cartridge, and audio and grounding cables, making it a complete, ready-to-use turntable that combines high-level analog performance with modern versatility.
