The Rega Planar 1 is a belt-drive turntable. Considered one of the most acclaimed and award-winning entry-level models in its category, it perfectly embodies Rega’s philosophy of combining sound quality, reliability, and ease of use without unnecessary complexity.

The Planar 1 is equipped with the latest-generation RB110 tonearm, designed with particular attention to mechanical precision and friction reduction. The ultra-low-friction bearings developed by Rega ensure accurate groove tracking and improved stability during playback. The bias adjustment is factory-set and requires no user intervention, making the turntable exceptionally easy to use. The redesigned headshell, both more rigid and ergonomic, completes a package engineered to deliver high performance and effortless operation.

The drive system employs a quiet 24 V synchronous motor designed to ensure stable and accurate rotation. A precision-machined aluminum pulley and the Rega EBLT drive belt further enhance speed consistency, reducing unwanted vibration and noise while promoting a more natural and accurate musical presentation.

The high-mass 23 mm platter is manufactured from a dense phenolic material specifically chosen to increase flywheel effect and improve rotational stability. Combined with a precision brass main bearing, this design contributes to smoother operation and a more balanced, controlled sound reproduction.

The chassis has also been completely redesigned to enhance both performance and perceived quality. Its structure uses a laminated plinth finished in high-gloss acrylic, providing increased rigidity while giving the turntable a modern and elegant appearance. The power switch is discreetly located beneath the plinth, preserving the clean design and improving overall ergonomics.

Speed selection is performed manually between 33 and 45 RPM by repositioning the belt on the dedicated pulley. The supplied dust cover effectively protects the turntable when not in use, helping to keep it in excellent condition over time.

Hand-built in England, the Rega Planar 1 combines thoughtful engineering, quality components, and straightforward setup to deliver an engaging and authentic vinyl listening experience.
