At the heart of the design is the 32-bit Sabre 9018K2M DAC, supported by a 1.0 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 1 GB of DDR-1066 system memory and 8 GB of internal flash memory. This architecture allows the N15D to operate reliably and responsively, providing fast command response and efficient management of complex digital streams.

The unit features a fanless design with passive cooling, ensuring silent and continuous operation. Its solid aluminium construction provides a robust and precise structure, while the clean front panel houses a USB-A 2.0 port for convenient connection of external storage devices and a volume control knob, which also manages the integrated headphone amplifier with its 6.35 mm jack output.

The rear panel features two USB-A 3.0 ports, one USB-B port, a bay for a 2.5-inch hard drive of up to 4 TB, an Ethernet port, Coaxial and Toslink digital audio outputs, as well as analogue outputs for direct connection to an amplifier or active loudspeakers. Music can be played from an internal hard drive, USB flash drives or network-connected media servers using UPnP, DLNA, Media Renderer or Samba protocols. With Samba and DLNA server functions, the CocktailAUDIO N15D can not only play stored content but also share it across the home network or archive files from a computer. Control is available through the dedicated iOS and Android app or via a web interface compatible with any device, eliminating the need for an integrated display.

The unit also supports AirPlay and Google Cast, together with major streaming services such as Tidal, Deezer, Spotify Connect, Napster and Airable, providing immediate access to extensive music libraries, including high-resolution content.
