The Audiolab 6000N Play is a network audio streaming player designed to add wireless music playback capabilities to any Hi-Fi system, combining a complete streaming platform with a high-quality digital-to-analogue conversion section. Part of the Audiolab 6000 Series, it has been developed to provide a simple and intuitive solution without compromising high-level audio performance.

The system is based on the DTS Play-Fi platform, allowing access to music content stored on the home network and to the main online streaming services, while also enabling the creation of fully synchronized multi-room systems with other compatible devices. The dual-band Wi-Fi connection with dual antennas ensures stable communication with smartphones, tablets, computers, NAS drives, and music servers, allowing seamless playback of shared content across the home network.

Compatibility with a wide range of streaming services and Internet radio stations significantly expands its versatility, while support for DLNA and UPnP protocols provides easy access to music libraries stored on network devices. The 6000N Play is also compatible with Spotify Connect and supports high-resolution audio playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz via Wi-Fi, preserving the full quality of the signal without conversion or downsampling.

The digital-to-analogue conversion section features the ESS Sabre32 Reference ES9018 DAC, the same converter used in the Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier. The 32-bit HyperStream architecture, combined with the proprietary time-domain jitter elimination system and Audiolab's analogue circuitry, helps reduce background noise and increase dynamic range, resulting in precise, detailed, and natural sound reproduction.

Particular attention is also given to the power supply design, which follows the engineering approach developed for the Audiolab 6000CDT CD transport. The isolated power supply with a high-efficiency toroidal transformer ensures stable operation of the circuits and helps preserve signal purity by reducing possible interference between the different sections of the unit.

The integrated DAC makes the 6000N Play highly versatile, allowing direct connection to an amplifier through the analogue RCA outputs or to active loudspeakers. Alternatively, the optical and coaxial digital outputs allow the use of an external DAC or an amplifier equipped with digital inputs, providing extensive flexibility for integration into different audio systems.

Control is mainly managed through the Play-Fi app, available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire devices, and Windows PCs, while the front panel maintains a clean and minimal design with only a standby button and six programmable preset buttons. These presets allow quick access to favourite Internet radio stations or playlists without the need to use the application every time, making everyday operation simple and immediate.
