The McIntosh MCD301 SACD/CD Player is a device designed to deliver extraordinary sound fidelity with both traditional compact discs and SACDs, raising the standard in both technical and musical performance. At the heart of its excellence is a new, ultra-quiet SACD/CD drive mechanism, fully enclosed in a wrap-around die-cast aluminum chassis that eliminates resonance, while the die-cast aluminum disc tray adds a tangible touch of quality each time a disc is loaded. Power is supplied by a premium McIntosh linear circuit, featuring an R-Core transformer and nested regulation, ensuring voltage stability and complete freedom from noise, essential conditions for achieving the highest audio quality.

The digital signal is converted by 24-bit, 192 kHz Dual-Mode PCM/DSD converters, with balanced outputs feeding a balanced analog stage that delivers wide dynamic range and exceptionally low distortion. Rotary controls for track selection and volume provide an analog, traditional feel, making operation intuitive and enjoyable. The MCD301 supports both fixed and variable outputs and includes a low-impedance headphone amplifier with a ¼” jack, ideal for high-detail personal listening.

This two-channel player can reproduce SACD, hybrid SACD, CD, CD-R, and CD-RW discs, ensuring maximum compatibility with modern audio formats. The accuracy of musical reproduction is further enhanced by the 24-bit Dual-Mode D/A converters with sampling rates up to 192 kHz, capable of reproducing every nuance with elegance and naturalness. Balanced and unbalanced outputs allow optimal configuration depending on the audio system: balanced outputs, ideal for long cable runs or environments with interference, provide maximum noise rejection, while unbalanced outputs are perfect for short distances. The maximum output level of 6 Vrms allows direct connection to power amplifiers. Additionally, optical and coaxial digital outputs are available for use with external converters.
