The D-08u excels at managing various digital sources, allowing playback of PCM and DSD files via USB, as well as receiving S/PDIF signals from other sources up to 192 kHz/24-bit, and it can send digital signals to an external DAC. The analog section benefits from balanced stages with integrated FIR filters, a highly stable power supply with independent regulators and large-capacity capacitors, and high-quality RCA and XLR terminals, delivering precise, clean, and detailed output. To further reduce jitter, the D-08u uses a low-noise clock and asynchronous USB communication, while SACD data is processed with dedicated jitter-reduction chips.

The D-08u’s mechanical and structural design is also optimized for sound performance: the thick chassis and reinforced base isolate external vibrations, while the graded cast iron feet dampen internal oscillations. The fluorescent display with zoom and dimmer functions offers optimal readability and integrates elegantly with the blasted white metal front panel, while the aluminum remote allows convenient operation from any listening position. The player also includes Luxman’s proprietary LUXMAN Audio Player software, compatible with FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, DSF, and DSDIFF files on Windows and Mac, ensuring simple and immediate handling of popular streaming and high-resolution formats.
