MARANTZ CD 70

The Marantz CD 70 is a CD player designed for Compact Disc playback and high-resolution audio file playback via USB. The design combines Marantz's experience in CD player development with an updated digital section, incorporating a high-performance DAC and HDAM-SA2 circuitry. It is intended for users who have a CD collection but also want access to audio content stored on USB devices.

The new DAC section is designed to extract greater detail, clarity and depth from recordings while maintaining a balanced and natural presentation. The Marantz sonic character is associated with reproduction focused on preserving the nuances and information contained in the recording, allowing the player to be used with both an existing disc collection and new releases.

The front-mounted USB-A port allows high-resolution audio files to be played directly from a USB device. The CD 70 supports several formats, including FLAC, ALAC and DSD, extending its capabilities beyond Compact Disc playback and allowing a digital music library to be accessed through a direct connection.

The player also features a fully discrete headphone amplifier using HDAM circuitry and offering selectable gain. The dedicated headphone section allows the CD 70 to be used for personal listening without involving the main system, maintaining separate signal handling and providing an amplification level suited to headphone listening.

The design incorporates characteristic elements of Marantz's aesthetic through balanced proportions, carefully selected materials and discreet detailing. The front panel maintains a clean layout and integrates the controls required to operate the player, allowing the CD 70 to be used in both traditional Hi-Fi systems and contemporary audio setups.
