The system uses separate laser pickups for CD and SACD media, each optimized for its specific format, allowing extremely accurate reading of both standard Red Book CDs as well as Super Audio CDs and CD-Rs.

The internal circuitry employs components of the highest quality, starting with a sophisticated digital-to-analog conversion stage based on six Crystal CS4397 DACs. The entire audio path is designed using a fully balanced complementary symmetry architecture, while the SACD playback section operates in pure Class A, a solution that contributes to an extremely fluid, natural, and highly detailed sound reproduction.

The power supply is completely separated into a dedicated second chassis and uses two independent transformers, one for the digital section and one for the analog stage. This design significantly reduces interference and background noise, ensuring exceptional dynamics, remarkable transparency, and a level of precision typical of the most advanced high-end electronics.

Great attention is also given to the isolation of digital and analog signals. All data coming from the transport mechanism is transferred via high-speed optical isolators, keeping the grounds of the transport and DAC sections completely separate. The Classé Omega uses separate signal paths for PCM data from standard CDs and DSD streams from SACDs, avoiding design compromises and optimizing performance for both formats. The DSD conversion is handled without additional digital filtering prior to analog conversion, fully preserving the naturalness and harmonic richness typical of the SACD format.

The analog section employs highly sophisticated circuitry with no global feedback, using passive analog filters and output stages designed for maximum linearity, speed, and transparency. This fully discrete, feedback-free approach results in an exceptionally natural, dynamic, and engaging sound, with a level of micro-detail and realism of reference quality.

SACD playback is characterized by rich harmonic content, depth, and outstanding musicality, with the ability to reconstruct a wide, precise, and three-dimensional soundstage. Connectivity is extremely comprehensive and versatile. The unit features both RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, as well as AES/EBU, RCA S/PDIF, and AT&T optical digital outputs. It also includes RCA S/PDIF and TOSLINK optical digital inputs, allowing the internal conversion stage to be used with external sources. The supplied metal remote control allows full operational control and integrates seamlessly with other components in the Classé range.
