The Reimyo CDP-777 is a CD player designed specifically for Compact Disc playback, with a construction dedicated entirely to the CD format and without video functions or support for SACD and DVD-Audio. The project was developed through a collaboration between JVC, Kyodo Denshi and Combak Corporation as part of the High Tech Fusion program, combining transport mechanics, digital processing and resonance-control technologies developed specifically for this model.

The digital section employs JVC Extended K2 Processing technology, which processes the 16-bit/44.1 kHz signal from Red Book CDs through 24-bit D/A conversion with 4× oversampling, bringing the processing data rate to 705.6 kHz. This architecture is designed to reduce conversion-related artifacts and maintain high precision in the reconstruction of the digital signal.

A large part of the CDP-777's components, including the power transformer and electronic circuitry, is specifically designed for the player. The construction also incorporates resonance-control solutions developed by Kazuo Kiuchi and Combak Corporation, with measures aimed at managing vibrations affecting the chassis and internal components.

Disc loading takes place through a compartment located on the top of the chassis and protected by a central sliding window. The CD is placed on the spindle of the transport mechanism and secured with a dedicated metal puck, resulting in a manual loading system and a straightforward configuration of the optical drive.

The chassis features a rigid structure with aluminum panels and a symmetrical, orderly layout. The top and side panels feature a dark finish, while the front panel incorporates a central element housing the display and operating controls. The overall weight of approximately 15 kg contributes to the mechanical stability of the unit.

The front panel provides the main playback controls and dedicated indicators for the active functions. The display shows the track number and, when available on the disc, the corresponding index number. The player is also supplied with a dedicated remote control, allowing the main functions to be operated from a distance.

The rear panel maintains a configuration focused on audio functions, with balanced and unbalanced analog outputs as well as coaxial and BNC digital outputs. This arrangement allows the CDP-777 to be used either as a complete CD player with its internal D/A conversion or as a digital transport connected to an external DAC.

The signal path and circuit design are intended to provide transparent reproduction, precise retrieval of musical details, consistent tonal balance and a well-defined soundstage. Extended K2 processing and the attention devoted to resonance control contribute to maintaining a stable and clearly defined signal throughout the reading and conversion process.

The Reimyo CDP-777 is therefore a dedicated CD player combining JVC transport mechanics, 24-bit Extended K2 processing with 4× oversampling, circuitry specifically developed for the model, an aluminum chassis and resonance-control solutions, together with balanced and unbalanced analog outputs and coaxial and BNC digital connections.
