The Brinkmann 12.1-inch tonearm stands out for its ability to trace the record groove with greater precision compared to shorter models, thanks to the reduction of offset error typically present in pivoted tonearms. During vinyl playback, the stylus maintains a perfectly perpendicular alignment to the groove at only two specific points; by increasing the tonearm’s length, the angular distance between these points is reduced, offering a more natural, relaxed, and controlled listening experience. This feature results in a sound reproduction that is more balanced and faithful, although it requires turntables compatible with larger dimensions, such as the LaGrange or Balance models. The 12.1-inch tonearm is not merely a stretched version of the 10.5; to ensure adequate torsional stability and minimize resonances, its structure has been completely redesigned with specific engineering solutions that integrate perfectly into its design, remaining discreet to the eye while maintaining a refined and understated appearance.

Made of composite material with a special anti-resonant anodization, this tonearm features a double gimbal bearing system to ensure smooth and precise movements. The fixed headshell offers an adjustable angle of approximately ±5°, thanks to a small clamping screw located under the arm tube that allows the headshell to rotate for accurate azimuth adjustment. A high-precision plastic part, matching the height of the EMT-ti cartridge, is used to align the headshell parallel to the record or platter surface, also allowing for arm height adjustment. This solution makes it possible to compensate for any imperfections in the cartridge’s geometry, ensuring that the stylus always stands perfectly vertical in relation to the record groove. Compatibility with cartridges weighing from 4 to 16 grams, a 200-gram counterweight, and unterminated flying leads complete the technical features of a component designed for the most discerning enthusiasts, seeking the highest standards in precision and natural sound reproduction.
