Power purifier designed to address the quality of the AC power supplied to audio components, without compromising the power supply’s ability to deliver peak currents or affecting the integrity of the grounding connection. The device is designed to reduce the effects of interference present on the mains supply and timing errors associated with poor-quality AC power.

The QX4 incorporates four QRT field generators, whose operation is intended to limit radio-frequency interference (RFI) and timing errors introduced by the power supply. The treatment is applied directly to the AC line and does not require the device to be inserted into the power path of individual components.

Placed within the system, the QX4 is designed to lower the noise floor and contribute to greater dynamic range, smoother musical reproduction, and a more pronounced perception of space and ambience. According to the manufacturer, its operation allows greater separation between the characteristics of the system itself and those of the recording being played.

The QX4 can be used on its own or integrated into a QRT system together with other Nordost devices, such as the QBASE, QV2 and QK1. The modular design of the range allows multiple power-line treatment units to be combined according to the configuration of the system.
