The PrimaLuna EVO 200 is a valve integrated amplifier that embodies a design philosophy focused on build quality, reliability, and pure sound, while keeping the brand’s artisanal tradition alive. It belongs to the 200 series, which introduces updated transformers and internal components, refined aesthetics, and an advanced functional feature set, while retaining fundamental elements such as hand assembly, point-to-point wiring in air, and the advanced Adaptive Auto-Bias™ circuitry that has been central to PrimaLuna’s reputation. The thick steel chassis, finished with a five-layer paint process, conveys solidity and craftsmanship, while the custom-designed encapsulated toroidal transformers ensure a wide bandwidth, delivering deep, controlled lows and extended, natural highs.

The carefully selected components include ceramic valve sockets, an ALPS volume control, Nichicon and DuRoch capacitors, and a super-fast Philips rectifier circuit, all contributing to a stable, quiet, and coherent musical performance. RCA inputs and speaker terminals, made of solid copper and gold-plated, improve connectivity quality and reduce signal loss, resulting in a cleaner, more dynamic sound. The EVO 200 also features a built-in headphone amplifier, with a dedicated selector on the side panel for quickly switching between headphone and speaker listening, and a shielded phono chassis for optional installation of an MM phono stage.

The SoftStart™ circuit protects the valves and sensitive components by reducing thermal stress at power-on, increasing overall longevity. The new generation Adaptive Auto-Bias system, exclusive to PrimaLuna, continuously monitors and adjusts the operating point of the valves evenly and instantly, reducing distortion, improving performance, and minimizing maintenance. A high/low bias selector allows optimization according to the type of valves used, making the amplifier highly flexible.

Supplied with EL34 valves, the PrimaLuna EVO 200 also supports KT88, KT120, and KT150, offering broad tonal customization. Its output power is 45 watts per channel, typical for this valve configuration, delivering a warm, detailed, and deeply musical sound. Designed as a fully analog product, the only concession to modernity is the remote control for volume and input selection.
