Optional Teddy Pardo TeddyCap power supply upgrade for Naim Nait: €550.00
The Naim Supernait is a stereo integrated amplifier designed to combine high-performance audio reproduction with exceptional versatility in a single component. Alongside its 80 W per channel power amplifier, it incorporates a 24-bit digital-to-analog converter, significantly expanding connectivity with digital sources while maintaining Naim's renowned engineering philosophy.
The digital section features five S/PDIF inputs, including two RCA coaxial inputs, two Toslink optical inputs, and a front-panel 3.5 mm mini-Toslink input, which also accepts analog signals from portable devices. The digital receiver supports PCM signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz, while conversion is handled by a dedicated Burr-Brown DAC. The circuitry is designed exclusively for stereo PCM playback and automatically powers down the digital section when no valid digital signal is detected, preserving the purity of the analog signal path.
The analog section provides six line-level inputs, available through both RCA connectors and Naim's traditional DIN sockets, which may be used in parallel. The Aux 2 input also includes a 24 V output for powering compatible external Naim phono preamplifiers, allowing seamless integration with other components in the system.
The preamplifier section employs an active line stage derived from the circuitry developed for Naim's flagship NAC 552 preamplifier. Volume and balance are controlled by high-quality motorized potentiometers, which can also be operated via the supplied remote control. The clean, understated front panel features discreet LED indicators and soft-touch controls instead of a digital display.
The power amplifier section is based on the architecture of the acclaimed NAP 200 and uses a quasi-complementary Class B output stage, a design long associated with Naim's distinctive musical performance. The power supply is built around in-house designed transformers, widely regarded as one of the key elements contributing to the company's characteristic sound quality.
Build quality is of an exceptionally high standard, reflecting the same attention to detail found in Naim's flagship electronics. The integrated DAC is one of the Supernait's defining features, making it particularly well suited to high-quality digital sources while delivering an outstanding balance of performance, flexibility, and musical involvement.
Teddy Pardo external power supplies are highly regarded for their exceptional value for money and outstanding signal stability. They are considered an excellent alternative to Naim's official upgrade power supplies (such as the HiCap, XPS, SuperCap, etc.). The TeddyCap provides a significant performance upgrade for compatible Naim amplifiers and preamplifiers, delivering improved dynamics, greater transparency, and lower noise
