The Sigma 2200i is a powerful stereo integrated amplifier designed to meet the demands of a modern hi-fi system, featuring USB and network streaming, HDMI 2.0 switching, and bass management. This amplifier combines the technical and performance qualities of the Sigma series separates into a single chassis, delivering performance well beyond its class. Its standout feature is the direct digital connection between the preamplifier and power amplifier sections, eliminating signal losses by removing unnecessary digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital conversions.

The preamplifier section inherits connectivity and circuit blocks from the Delta CP-800 and Sigma SSP models, with fully balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs, optional MM/MC phono, digital coaxial and optical inputs, USB host and device, Ethernet for streaming and IP control, and HDMI for AV switching. Asynchronous synchronization and master clock modes manage digital signals with extremely low jitter, preserving signal integrity and dynamic range. Analog sources are converted at 24/96 to maintain their full bandwidth.

All sources benefit from Digital Signal Processing, which can be used for subwoofer bass management or to smooth frequency response peaks with a nine-band parametric EQ. A customizable tone control allows correction of imperfect recordings, enhancing every track in any listening environment. Unlike external DACs or preamplifiers that must output analog signals for volume control, the 2200i uses a fully digital architecture, connecting the preamp DSP output directly to the amplifier DSP input without any DAC, ADC, or unnecessary analog circuitry. The signal path remains as short and direct as possible, staying digital all the way to the speaker output filters.

The amplifier section is equivalent to the separate AMP2 or CA-D200 models, maintaining a fully digital signal from the DSP input to the speaker terminals, with switching times under 3 nanoseconds and extremely low distortion across the full bandwidth. Power is supplied by Classé’s proprietary switch-mode power supply with power factor correction, delivering over 1,000 W, providing clean and stable voltage, handling demanding passages with ease, and ensuring reliability, low operating temperatures, and long life.

The front panel touchscreen, along with Android and Apple apps, offers sophisticated yet intuitive control. DLNA and AirPlay streaming are supported via network, while HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 support easy connection of set-top boxes, game consoles, and disc players. Whatever the source, the Sigma 2200i deploys its resources to deliver faithful, immersive sound for many years of listening pleasure.
