The AM-201 is an integrated amplifier that combines long-standing craftsmanship with a pure and transparent sound, expressing the renowned AIR-TIGHT musicality derived from the company’s established valve technology. The design builds on a concept developed over more than fifteen years, starting from a prototype based on the bimetallic ELC86 (6GW8) tube and now employing the EL-84 MP, chosen to provide optimal matching with modern speakers and the latest audio trends.
The AM-201 features a stable auto-bias system, ensuring safe and reliable operation in parallel push-pull configuration while maintaining consistent performance over time. All wiring is handcrafted point-to-point, without PCB, to guarantee durability, stability, and the highest sound quality. Attention to detail extends to all components: carefully selected for volume, capacitors, inputs, and speaker terminals, each element is individually assembled and precisely positioned to ensure uniformity and reliability.
Aesthetically, the amplifier is finished with thick extruded aluminum front and rear panels paired with solid wood covering, providing both elegance and solidity. The design also includes a convenient bias balance meter and a headphone output, allowing personal listening without compromising sound quality. Inputs support modern sources such as CD and DVD, while the selector and controls are designed for intuitive operation. Every detail, from wiring to material selection, reflects AIR-TIGHT’s philosophy of combining valve technology, musicality, and high-level handcrafted construction.
