Sara K.: Hobo
Limited edition 180-gram LP
The fourth album by the acclaimed singer-songwriter Sara K., released by Chesky Records.
Blending the raw acoustic textures of folk with the harmonic sophistication of jazz, the earthy yet soaring qualities of blues, and the intimate lyricism of classic rock singer-songwriters, Hobo was first released in 1977. The album earned wide acclaim, showcasing the brilliance of Dallas-born Sara K.
Alongside ten original tracks—including the intense “Moving Big Picture” and the meditatively toned title track “Hobo”—the album features a stunning cover of the timeless “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart and a surprising reinterpretation of the Commodores’ 1970s funk classic “Brick House.”
Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” highlights the crystalline talent of Bruce Dunlop, the extraordinary instrumental technique of Hui Cox, and Sara’s ethereal a cappella voice. Another standout is the R&B-flavored duet with singer Matthew Andrae on the heartfelt “Oughtta Be Happy By Now.”
Hobo is a brilliant showcase of Sara K.’s unique artistry. This title is also available as a hybrid multichannel SACD.
