Finally available on 200-gram vinyl, this title represents a milestone in double bass music.
A heartfelt tribute to Freddie Green, featuring Jeff Hamilton, Jeff Clayton, John Clayton, and Freddie Green. Super Bass has long been a personal dream. In 1945, I recorded One Bass Hits, and in 1946 Two Bass Hits. Over the years, I had always wanted to create Triple and the Home Run, and Super Bass feels like the natural continuation of those earlier works.
The project began with meeting a young student returning from Indiana University, a true wizard on the double bass, who was also studying arranging and conducting and would become one of the finest arrangers in the music business. His name is John Clayton, and he plays a significant role on this record.
This edition was remastered by the late, great Doug Sax (the genius behind Sheffield Lab) from the original analog tapes using an all-tube signal chain.
This new pressing was manufactured at Quality Record Pressing on 200-gram virgin vinyl and meets all Analogue Productions’ high production standards.
