A student of Seiji Ozawa and Leonard Bernstein, conductor Eiji Oue quite literally set Minneapolis ablaze with this, his first recording at the helm of the renewed Minnesota Orchestra—now reissued by Reference Recordings with the outstanding sound quality of a 180-gram LP.
The program features some of the most spectacular pieces in the entire orchestral repertoire: from the famous Dance of the Tumblers by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov to the sensual Dance of the Seven Veils from Salome by Richard Strauss, and the exuberant Cossack Dance from Mazeppa by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This album offers a dazzling parade of orchestral colors that will undoubtedly captivate even the most reserved audiophiles, as well as listeners with the most demanding and refined tastes.
It is worth noting that the same title is also available in SACD, HDCD, and HRx DVD-R formats.
