The cone is constructed from a fiberglass composite, selected for its favorable stiffness-to-mass ratio, while the electromagnetic motor employs a large toroidal ferrite structure to provide precise cone control and high dynamic capability.

The driver incorporates dual 8-inch voice coils with four-layer bifilar windings made from copper-clad aluminum wire, a design developed to improve current handling and cone motion accuracy. The catenary-profile SBR rubber surround helps maintain linear behavior even during extreme excursions, reducing distortion while preserving bass detail and articulation.

Amplification is provided by the SVS Sledge STA-2800D module, configured as a dual-mono Class D amplifier with MOSFET output stages. Cooling is achieved through natural convection using an FEA-optimized structure, eliminating the need for large external heatsinks.

Signal processing is handled by a 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP that continuously monitors voltage, current, and temperature, optimizing system performance in real time. Digital conversion utilizes DACs with a 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio, ensuring wide dynamic range and a very low noise floor.

Using the SVS app, users can adjust volume, crossover frequency, phase, polarity, Room Gain compensation, and six parametric EQ filters, as well as store three custom presets. The SVS Auto EQ system also enables automatic room calibration using a smartphone microphone or an optional external microphone, correcting the main acoustic irregularities of the listening environment.

The enclosure is constructed from high-density MDF with extensive internal bracing to minimize resonance and vibration. Iso-elastomer feet provide mechanical isolation from the floor, helping to reduce unwanted vibrations.

Connectivity includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, allowing seamless integration into both home theater and high-end Hi-Fi systems. The rear panel features a rotatable OLED display for easier installation, while a dedicated USB port supplies power to the optional SVS SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter.
