The **SVS PB-3000 R|Evolution** is a bass-reflex subwoofer engineered to deliver low-frequency reproduction that combines depth, impact, and precision, making it an ideal solution for home theater systems, hi-fi installations, and dedicated gaming setups. Developed from more than twenty years of expertise in acoustic engineering and incorporating technologies derived from the flagship 17-Ultra R|Evolution Series, it stands among the most advanced models in the SVS lineup. Its architecture extends bass response down to 16 Hz in Standard mode, producing deep, physically impactful bass while maintaining exceptional control and extremely low distortion, even at high sound pressure levels.
At the heart of the system is a newly developed 13-inch high-excursion front-firing driver engineered to deliver outstanding dynamic performance and exceptionally fast transient response. The cone is constructed from pure 1100-series aluminum, a lightweight, rigid, and acoustically neutral material that maintains excellent linearity even at maximum excursion while preserving detail and tonal accuracy. The long-throw SBR surround enables extensive cone travel while maintaining precise control, while the Flat-Edge Split-Wind voice coil has been designed to maximize magnetic force during high-excursion operation while simultaneously reducing the mass of the moving assembly. This combination enhances driver responsiveness, delivering deep, fast, and energetic bass without compromising accuracy or control.
The motor system features an overhung design with dual ferrite toroidal magnets, engineered to maintain exceptional linearity even at maximum driver excursion while ensuring consistent control during the most demanding passages. Completing the assembly is a robust die-cast aluminum basket optimized through finite element analysis (FEA) for outstanding structural rigidity, together with an aluminum shorting sleeve that reduces gap inductance and distortion, further improving accuracy and sonic clarity.
Power is provided by the STA-1200D2 Class D amplifier, capable of delivering 1,200 watts RMS continuously and more than 4,000 watts of peak power. The design employs discrete MOSFET output stages capable of supplying extremely high current while maintaining complete control of the driver during the most demanding transients and at the highest output levels. SVS's proprietary switch-mode power supply continuously monitors voltage, current, and temperature through multiple sensors, ensuring operational stability, long-term reliability, and consistent performance under all operating conditions.
System management is handled by a sophisticated 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP that coordinates amplifier and driver operation in real time. The processor continuously monitors key operating parameters, precisely shaping frequency response, stabilizing power delivery, and optimizing subwoofer performance according to the incoming signal. Its 56-bit digital signal processing, combined with a premium DAC offering a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 120 dB, minimizes background noise, increases available dynamic headroom, and preserves maximum signal integrity.
Connectivity includes both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs, allowing seamless integration into home audio systems as well as professional installations and long cable-run applications without compromising signal quality.
The subwoofer can be configured directly from the rear-panel OLED display or through the SVS Subwoofer Control app, available for Apple iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire devices. Via Bluetooth, users can adjust volume, crossover frequency, phase, polarity, room gain compensation, six parametric equalizers, and power management functions, as well as store up to three custom presets for different listening scenarios such as music, movies, or night mode. The system is also prepared for SVS Auto Room EQ, designed to analyze room acoustics and automatically optimize subwoofer performance through dedicated equalization filters. The supplied port plugs also allow users to change the behavior of the bass-reflex ports, switching between the standard ported configuration and sealed operation to prioritize either maximum low-frequency extension or even faster, tighter bass response.
The cabinet is constructed from high-rigidity MDF and incorporates extensive internal bracing to effectively minimize vibrations, resonances, and unwanted coloration even at reference listening levels. Two 3.5-inch flared bass-reflex ports are designed to maximize airflow while minimizing turbulence and port noise, while the robust non-resonant ABS front grille protects the driver without affecting acoustic performance. Completing the design are custom iso-elastomer feet, which reduce vibration transfer to the floor and minimize room-induced acoustic artifacts, along with an integrated convection cooling system engineered to maintain optimal operating temperatures during the most demanding listening sessions.
By combining these advanced engineering solutions, the SVS PB-3000 R|Evolution delivers low-frequency performance that blends physical impact, speed, precision, and musicality. Its extension down to 16 Hz, exceptional dynamic capability, lightning-fast transient response, and unwavering control even at maximum output levels allow it to bring out the full potential of any content, from movie soundtracks and video games to high-fidelity music playback, delivering an immersive, natural, and highly detailed listening experience.
