The acoustic system is built around two high-excursion 9-inch active drivers engineered to produce deep, controlled bass from an exceptionally compact enclosure. The cones are constructed from vented aluminum, combining light weight, rigidity, and acoustic neutrality to maintain excellent linearity even at high excursion levels. An 1100-series aluminum dust cap further enhances thermal dissipation while reducing the moving mass, contributing to faster and more accurate transient response. A four-layer copper voice coil, designed to handle high current, minimizes power compression and preserves dynamic performance even during demanding playback, while the FEA-optimized long-throw surround enables up to 23.4 mm of linear Xmax excursion, delivering authoritative, tightly controlled bass with minimal coloration.

The enclosure employs a sealed design developed to remain acoustically inert, effectively minimizing unwanted resonances and vibrations. Its hybrid construction combines a rigid 18 mm MDF frame with 2.5 mm aircraft-grade aluminum front and rear baffles reinforced by an extensive internal bracing structure. This architecture allows the drivers to operate at high output levels while maintaining exceptional accuracy and clarity. A magnetically attached metal grille, which can be painted to match the surrounding décor, allows the subwoofer to blend discreetly into any living space.

Power is supplied by the external Sledge STA-800D2C amplifier, a 2U rack-mount unit capable of delivering 800 watts RMS continuously and more than 2,500 watts of peak power. Based on a Class D topology with discrete MOSFET output stages, the amplifier provides high instantaneous current while maintaining precise control over the drivers, even during the most demanding transients. Drawing on technologies developed for SVS flagship subwoofer amplifiers, the system extends in-room bass response down to approximately 19 Hz, producing deep, physically engaging low frequencies without compromising accuracy.

Signal processing is handled by a 50 MHz Analog Devices DSP featuring 56-bit double-precision digital processing, engineered to optimize frequency response by taking advantage of room acoustics while avoiding unwanted emphasis. The DSP delivers linear, detailed bass that integrates seamlessly with the rest of the audio system while helping reduce common room-related acoustic anomalies.

The subwoofer can be configured and controlled directly from the amplifier's front panel or via the SVS Subwoofer Control app using Bluetooth connectivity. Through the intuitive interface, users can adjust volume, crossover frequency, polarity, room gain compensation, and a three-band parametric equalizer, allowing precise correction of room-induced peaks and nulls down to individual frequencies. The app also supports custom listening presets for different applications, such as music, movies, or gaming, providing instant recall of preferred settings. The amplifier further includes stereo RCA inputs and outputs, as well as a 3–12 V AC/DC trigger input for automatic power synchronization with the rest of the audio system.

The system can be used as either a single subwoofer or in a dual-subwoofer configuration. Using two units provides more uniform bass distribution throughout the listening room, reducing response variations between seating positions while increasing available headroom and further lowering distortion during demanding movie scenes and music playback. In two-channel audio systems, a dual-subwoofer configuration also improves soundstage coherence and integration with the main loudspeakers.

By combining an exceptionally rigid enclosure, dual high-excursion drivers, high-current amplification, sophisticated DSP processing, and comprehensive app-based control, the SVS 3000 In-Wall delivers performance typically associated with much larger conventional subwoofers while remaining completely concealed within the wall.
