The Gavis B1 is a Sonus Faber subwoofer renowned for combining elegant design with high-level sound performance. The cabinet is wrapped in fine Italian leather, blending aesthetics with substance, featuring a solid and heavy enclosure that provides a commanding presence while maintaining precise resonance control thanks to its internally decoupled construction.

Inside, the B1 features a 10” active woofer paired with two passive radiators of the same diameter, capable of delivering low frequencies with powerful, immersive impact that can be physically felt. Amplification is handled by a 300W MOSFET module with a two-stage power supply, designed to provide dynamic, accurate, and reliable performance over time without resorting to extreme high-wattage digital solutions. The subwoofer includes XLR and RCA inputs, a 24 dB/octave adjustable low-pass filter, a fixed high-pass filter above 20 Hz, phase control, and gain adjustment, offering maximum flexibility for integration with both high-end stereo systems and home cinema setups.

Although primarily designed to complement reference two-way systems, the B1 is magnetically shielded, allowing placement near TVs or monitors without interference. The sound is extremely precise and musical, making it ideal for studio use as a complement to monitors like the Yamaha NS-10M. The adjustable crossover frequency up to a maximum of 65 Hz demonstrates that this is not a generic “home theater” subwoofer, but a component engineered for accurate and controlled low-frequency reproduction.

The combination of a robust amplifier, three well-calibrated drivers, and a solid enclosure makes the Gavis B1 an elegant, powerful, and surprisingly musical Italian subwoofer, capable of completing both critical stereo systems and high-quality home cinema installations.
