The Vestlyd V12C floor-standing speakers deliver outstanding sound performance comparable to much larger speakers. With a sensitivity of 93 dB and incredibly low distortion, the V12C offers a high-quality musical experience. The cabinets are heavy and robust to minimize unwanted vibrations or interference.
The stylish, rustic retro look of the Vestlyd speakers appeals to listeners who enjoy a forward acoustic presence and prefer turning the volume slightly higher. The V12C provides an engaging musical experience reminiscent of live concerts. The bass is physically tangible, compact, and extremely fast, driven by pressure and punch rather than sheer output.
The V12C reproduces sound realistically, without being overly tight or artificially enhanced; individual musical events can be located precisely, and the relationships between musicians remain clear. The soundstage extends toward the listener, creating an immersive yet non-intrusive experience.
Measuring 622 × 392 × 367 mm and weighing 25 kg each, the V12C cabinets are made from thick MDF (the front panel is 30 mm thick). The chassis incorporates solid horizontal and vertical braces designed to increase lateral rigidity, minimizing the risk of cabinet resonance even at high volumes.
The 12” woofer features a paper cone, and the tweeter membrane is made of lightweight yet durable titanium. The tweeter is a high-power neodymium compression driver, where the dome’s movement acts on a pressure chamber smaller than the dome surface, increasing speed and airflow efficiency. An aluminum waveguide lens in front of the tweeter ensures a relatively wide dispersion pattern.
The co-axial design resembles a horn, enhancing the impressive sound pressure levels claimed by the manufacturer. Bass frequencies are reinforced by two front-facing bass reflex ports. The tweeter delivers a pleasantly wide spatial radiation, with upper frequencies rolling off smoothly, avoiding harshness and supporting long-term listening comfort.
On the rear panel, speaker terminals include both robust banana/vite connections and Neutrik Speakon connectors, commonly used in professional systems. All components, from the voice coil to the cone, are integrated into a unified assembly before final production. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was used during development to optimize uniform dispersion, high SPL, and low distortion.
With a sensitivity of 93 dB (2.83 V/1 m), the V12C achieves a maximum sound pressure level of 130 dB without signal distortion, thanks to uncompromising engineering. The co-axial design minimizes the typical narrow horizontal dispersion, delivering wide coverage, precise time alignment, and uniform sound distribution even at higher frequencies.
The V12C speakers are ideally placed on the optional V12C Stands for optimal listening, with a slight backward tilt to direct the tweeter toward the listener’s ears. They can also be floor-mounted or placed on a low shelf, featuring fixed, solid rubber feet designed for decades of use.
