The Tannoy Prestige Canterbury SE is a 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker from the Prestige range, designed according to Tannoy's DMT (Differential Material Technology) philosophy and featuring a 15" Dual Concentric™ driver, which integrates the low/mid-frequency and high-frequency transducers into a single acoustic point. The magnetic system uses an Alcomax magnet, while the Tannoy PepperPot WaveGuide™ is designed to improve symmetrical dispersion and maintain a point-source acoustic behavior as consistently as possible.

The driver configuration allows the loudspeaker to combine dynamic low-frequency reproduction with a fluid and open midrange and a defined, spacious high-frequency response. The Dual Concentric system also promotes uniform energy distribution and good coherence between the different frequency ranges.

The Variable Distributed Port system allows the low-frequency output to be adjusted according to the acoustic characteristics and dimensions of the listening room. The port configuration can therefore be optimized according to the speaker's placement and the characteristics of the environment.

The crossover is designed with particular attention to the precise positioning of its various components, with the aim of minimizing coupling between circuit elements. The crossover network is also positioned away from the driver to reduce potential interference associated with magnetic fields.

The cabinet is constructed using birch plywood panels and an internal bracing structure designed to increase enclosure rigidity and reduce unwanted resonances. The construction is completed by an oiled walnut veneer exterior, featuring selected burr walnut inlays and solid walnut mouldings, following the characteristic design language of the Prestige range.
