The QLN Prestige Three Gen 2 is a two-way floorstanding speaker that evolves an already iconic design from the brand, reinterpreting the Signature pyramid design introduced in the late 1980s with a modern approach. It retains distinctive features such as the slanted front baffle for precise time alignment between drivers and the minimized baffle area around the speakers, aiming to deliver a sound reproduction that is as natural and interference-free as possible. Each unit is created through a careful selection of components, matched to work in perfect synergy, reflecting Qln’s philosophy of keeping the music at the center of the experience without letting technology dominate the listening.

This model represents the second generation of a speaker first introduced in 2018, which quickly became one of the brand’s most acclaimed models worldwide. After years of development and extensive listening tests, the design has been further refined, maintaining the fundamental physical principles while improving every aspect with new technical solutions, including an updated cabinet, a completely redesigned crossover, optimized internal wiring, and adjustable support feet.

The cabinet features a truncated pyramid configuration with a slanted front panel, ensuring perfect time alignment between woofer and tweeter, contributing to a coherent and three-dimensional soundstage. The reduction of front-facing surfaces and the internal geometry help suppress standing waves, while the proprietary dual-layer Qboard® technology eliminates structural resonances. The trumpet-shaped bass reflex port at both ends provides smooth airflow, reducing turbulence and improving low-frequency performance. The speaker is decoupled from the floor using adjustable feet made of rigid, highly damping materials designed to limit vibration transmission.

The mid-woofer driver is developed in collaboration with Danish manufacturer Scan-Speak and integrates advanced contemporary technologies. The treated Kevlar cone and the magnet system with a copper ring ensure symmetrical motion, increased midrange dynamics, and a significant reduction of intermodulation distortion, resulting in particularly detailed vocal reproduction and impressive micro- and macro-dynamics. The 25 mm wide surround tweeter with a textile dome provides a frequency response extending beyond 30 kHz and uniform dispersion off-axis, while the AirCirc magnet system and rear chamber eliminate unwanted reflections and resonances.

The second-generation crossover has been completely redesigned with a first-order 6 dB configuration, prioritizing phase coherence and time alignment over frequency response alone, delivering a more fluid and natural sound. High-end components are used throughout, including non-inductive capacitors for the tweeter section, oil-filled capacitors for the woofer section, and flat foil inductors in the most critical positions. All elements are secured with damping materials and treated to prevent internal resonances, while high-power resistors ensure stability and low noise across the frequency spectrum.

Internal wiring is designed and manufactured in Sweden, using solid pure copper conductors with Teflon insulation, wrapped in a high-damping acoustic shield to minimize unwanted feedback. Terminals are WBT Nextgen® connectors in premium copper, engineered to minimize metal mass and energy storage, providing an extremely pure connection to the speaker cables. For internal acoustic damping, natural wool is used, chosen for its excellent acoustic properties and combined with a minimal amount of synthetic fiber to achieve optimal density.

Every element of the design is aimed at non-resonant behavior, from the drivers to the cabinet, internal components, and support systems, reducing background noise and enhancing overall dynamics. The result is a more relaxed, detailed, and artifact-free sound in which only the music itself is highlighted in its purest form.
