Two-way floorstanding bass reflex loudspeaker with ribbon tweeter

Born from a year of intensive research and development, the ProAc D48 is designed to push the performance of the Response range even further, with particular attention to the extension and speed of the low-frequency response, as well as a more refined reproduction of the midrange. The result is a large yet elegant floorstanding speaker capable of delivering a wide and well-defined soundstage, with pinpoint imaging and realistic depth.

To achieve this level of performance, ProAc developed a new bass driver inspired by studio monitors, featuring a specially treated cone and an oversized dust cap that enhances midrange clarity and bass control. Each driver is housed in an exclusive floor-vented system with side-firing ports—an approach that not only simplifies speaker placement within the room but also minimizes sensitivity to room acoustics. The two bass units blend seamlessly with the ribbon tweeter, thanks to a high-quality crossover network made with premium-grade components.

The D48 handles both the complex dynamics of orchestral compositions and the raw energy of rock music with equal ease and authority, offering an immersive and deeply satisfying listening experience.
