The Opera Quinta is one of the most refined models from Opera Loudspeakers and continues to stand out for its exceptional sound reproduction. It is a three-way floorstanding speaker, fully designed to deliver a high-level listening experience. The 7” woofers, made by Scanspeak to Opera’s specifications, feature aluminum diaphragms and dual-layer voice coils with aluminum supports, ensuring rigidity, precise control, and a clean, well-defined low-frequency range free of subharmonics and unwanted resonances. The two woofers, connected in parallel within a 40-liter sealed enclosure, provide stable and linear performance.

The midrange, identical to the woofer, uses only the most linear portion of its excursion to minimize intermodulation. It is loaded in a dedicated sealed volume treated with pyramid-shaped polyurethane, acting as an acoustic trap, ensuring coherent and clear sound. The Scanspeak D26 tweeter, with a treated soft dome, dual magnet, ferrofluid, decompression chamber, and aluminum flange, offers twice the linear excursion of conventional tweeters, a frequency response up to 30 kHz at 0 dB and up to 40 kHz at –6 dB, with a resonance frequency of only 860 Hz, making it insensitive to vibrations transmitted from the cabinet.

The crossover uses a cascade configuration with three separate boards, minimizing coil interference and providing a stable soundstage and precise imaging. The cabinet, with a 30 mm MDF front panel covered in leather and finely polished real wood veneer sides, is internally reinforced and features a thick 60 mm MDF rear spine. The speaker is bi-amp capable and uses robust and versatile Opera gold-plated brass connectors, ensuring secure and effective electrical contact.

The sealed-box design reduces sensitivity to subsonic frequencies, making the Quinta ideal for vinyl playback and integration into any environment. It can be used as a main stereo speaker or as part of a home theater system without the need for a subwoofer or center channel. Its smooth impedance curve makes it less sensitive to cable quality and compatible with both tube and solid-state amplification.

The Opera Quinta is a 4-ohm nominal speaker compliant with DIN standards, able to be driven even by less powerful amplifiers while performing at its best with high-end electronics. It offers full low-frequency extension, clear and defined midrange, and refined highs typical of reference-level speakers, making it a complete speaker that combines absolute performance with excellent value for money.
