Every element is re-engineered to improve performance, structural rigidity, and aesthetic refinement, resulting in a floorstanding loudspeaker that stands out for both its build quality and its sophisticated balance of design and technology.

The cabinet moves away from the traditional box-shaped enclosure in favor of a tapered, curved design developed to combine visual elegance with acoustic advantages. Available in a range of premium wood veneers and high-gloss finishes, it achieves a level of craftsmanship comparable to that of Monitor Audio's flagship Platinum Series. The front baffle features flush-mounted drive units for a clean, contemporary appearance, while the rear panel emphasizes the cabinet's flowing lines, leaving only the driver fixing system and bass reflex port visible.

The enclosure is constructed from multiple layers of 3 mm high-density fiberboard bonded with high-strength adhesives and steam-formed into an exceptionally rigid 21 mm shell. The curved profile helps reduce internal standing waves, while radial internal bracing further enhances cabinet rigidity. Monitor Audio's proprietary single-bolt through-driver mounting system mechanically links the front and rear panels, increasing overall cabinet stiffness, maintaining consistent driver tension, and minimizing unwanted vibrations that could introduce coloration into the sound. This solution also allows the drivers to be mounted without visible mechanical fasteners on the front baffle.

The speaker employs a true three-way configuration featuring two 6.5-inch woofers, a dedicated 4-inch midrange driver, and a new-generation C-CAM ribbon tweeter. A single rear-firing bass reflex port, tuned to 40 Hz and based on Monitor Audio's HiVe II technology, promotes smoother airflow and improved low-frequency extension. A robust die-cast alloy terminal plate houses high-quality binding posts suitable for bi-wire and bi-amp connections.

The twin woofers utilize Ceramic-Coated Aluminum/Magnesium (C-CAM) RST cones featuring a ribbed surface that replaces the previous dimpled design. This geometry produces a lighter and stiffer cone, significantly reducing breakup modes and improving resonance control for more accurate and natural sound reproduction. The rib pattern is optimized through finite element analysis to achieve the ideal balance between rigidity and low mass. New die-cast alloy chassis incorporate improved ventilation to enhance voice-coil cooling and reduce internal pressure, allowing higher output levels with lower distortion while extending bass response down to a claimed 30 Hz.

The dedicated 4-inch C-CAM midrange driver features a short underhung voice coil designed to minimize modulation effects and reduce distortion. Its enlarged 40 mm voice coil improves power handling while reducing power compression at high listening levels. The crossover hands over from the woofers at 790 Hz before crossing to the ribbon tweeter at 2.3 kHz.

The C-CAM ribbon tweeter is derived from the technology developed for the Platinum Series but has been specifically redesigned to operate effectively at lower frequencies. A slightly thicker ribbon diaphragm enables operation down to 2.3 kHz while maintaining low distortion, extending the frequency response up to an impressive 60 kHz. This design also improves power handling and off-axis performance. A newly developed suspension system compensates for ribbon expansion and contraction caused by heat and low-frequency excursion, ensuring consistent long-term performance without compromising vertical dispersion.

The third-order crossover network is designed entirely from the ground up following extensive listening sessions and comparative testing. It employs carefully selected components, including polypropylene capacitors, air-core and laminated steel-core inductors, and premium low-tolerance film capacitors derived from the Platinum Series. All drivers are connected using Pureflow silver internal wiring to preserve maximum signal integrity throughout the audio path.

By combining a highly sophisticated cabinet, completely redesigned drive units, and an extensively optimized crossover, the Monitor Audio Gold GX300 delivers exceptional tonal purity, wide dynamic range, and an impressive ability to reproduce music with detail and naturalness across every genre.
