The Dynaudio Contour S 5.4 embodies the art of creating a timeless loudspeaker that transcends conventional design boundaries and achieves a level of sonic perfection driven purely by passion. The speaker is built on a solid and stable platform, essential for allowing the powerful neodymium magnets, precisely formed aluminum voice coils, and rigid MSP cones to deliver ideal dynamics and impulse response.

The S 5.4 features two 20 cm woofers and a dynamic midrange driver, combined to provide a perfect balance of power and finesse, strength and speed, ensuring impressive performance in both stereo and home theater systems. Completing the system is the high-resolution Esotar² tweeter with a treated fabric dome, capable of revealing every high-frequency detail naturally and accurately, rendering the three-dimensionality of the sound.

The cabinet is tall and slender, with a five-millimeter-thick aluminum front baffle, slightly spaced from the main panel to accommodate a gasket that dampens potential vibrations. The two woofers, located at the top, are built with a lightweight alloy basket and a single-piece polypropylene cone, a Kapton coil support, and a moving coil wound with pure aluminum wire, compressed to optimize the number of turns in the magnetic gap. The midrange uses the same construction techniques, with a 38 mm voice coil, while the Esotar² tweeter, an upgrade of the model introduced with the Confidence series, features a three-stage treated fabric dome for excellent extension and mechanical damping, a ventilated central pole, and a powerful neodymium magnet. A special ferrofluid improves heat dissipation and preserves the definition of the finest details.

The cabinet is constructed from 20 mm medium-density panels with internal reinforcements and tar-coated inner panels, while the front aluminum baffle with a soft gasket stiffens, damps, and helps dissipate heat from the drivers. The rear aluminum panel houses the crossover, designed with 6 dB/octave slopes and carefully calibrated components, including impedance-equalizing cells, resistors, reactive components, and a PTC for peak power protection. The bass reflex port is wide and flared to minimize air turbulence.

The speaker combines power, speed, detail, and naturalness, delivering music with remarkable realism and deep background silence, transporting the listener directly into the recording space without interference or coloration.
