Innovative design and a dynamic, intense and “live” sound
The NS-700 speakers deliver a sound that is so dynamic and intense that it feels like a live performance. One of the reasons lies in the non-parallel cabinet design. During development, Yamaha engineers aimed to maximize detail and sound imaging while reducing internal standing waves. They achieved this with a rounded top panel that reduces vertical standing waves and a trapezoidal shape that reduces horizontal ones. The result is a very natural and spacious sound, making the NS-700 speakers suitable for any multichannel music genre and home theater films.

A-PMD woofer and midrange cones
Yamaha’s exclusive A-PMD (Advanced Polymer-injected Mica Diaphragm) cones are extremely lightweight, rigid and stable, thanks to the use of the special low-density PMP (Polymethylpentene) material, much lighter than polypropylene. This ensures very fast response (both in rise and decay), as well as excellent midrange detail and extended bass. The outstanding internal loss characteristics reduce unwanted resonances, resulting in smooth frequency response and natural vocal reproduction.

Tweeter with aluminum dome and DC™ diaphragm
The high-performance 3 cm tweeter uses an aluminum dome and Yamaha’s DC diaphragm, which integrates the diaphragm and the voice coil. Both lightweight and durable, it reproduces a large amount of sound information (extremely detailed), creating a compact soundstage. The result is a tweeter capable of precise and well-defined high frequencies at any listening volume.

Right-angle three-way construction for maximum rigidity
Yamaha’s excellence in woodworking is utilized in the cabinet’s right-angle three-way joint construction. This technique ensures extremely tight joints and a perfectly rigid enclosure for solid, powerful bass reproduction.
